Shopify is the most desirable e-commerce platform for rapidly setting up a store on the web and running online with design flexibility and many website features. It gives you 14 day free trial period to test. After your trial expires, choose a plan according to your business.

Shopify consists of its own pricing plans. There are five Shopify price plans to choose from:

1. Starter – $5 per month

2. Basic – $29 a month

3. “Shopify” – $79 per month

4. Advanced – $299 per month

5. Plus – from $2000 per month upwards

Shopify starter plan (5$ per month)

Shopify’s starter plan is for new sellers who want to sell to their customers through social media platforms or messaging apps without actually maintaining an online store. The started plan enables you to create product links that you can share on social media posts or in messages and you can get started immediately.

Basic Shopify plan (29$ per month)

This plan is for small businesses. Shopify Basic costs $29 per month, and it’s the least value Shopify plan that will provide you with a fully functional online store.

You can add up to 2 staff members which means 2 admins can manage your store. The inventory location can be up to 4 which means we can track inventory, fulfill orders and sell products across multiple locations, including retail stores, wholesale, etc.

The transaction fees exist to continually keep your store powered and are only charged when someone purchases your product.

The transaction fees help Shopify keep your store open and operating at optimal levels, no matter how many visitors you have on your website at one given time.

Each time a customer purchases from you (a transaction), a transaction fee will be charged depending on which Shopify plan you subscribe to. The expenses are 2% for the Basic Shopify plan, 1% for the Shopify plan, and 0.5% for the Advanced Shopify plan using external payments.

If you use Shopify’s built-in payment processor, Shopify payment, you won’t have to pay any transaction fee at all. The credit card fee of this plan is 2.9% + 30 cents per transaction.

For example: If someone buys 10 widgets from you in one single transaction, the 30 cents is charged only once and not on each item. That means it will be on a per-transaction basis, not on a per-item sold basis.

Shopify Plan (79$ per month)

The Shopify plan costs $79 per month. It is a considerable step up from the basic plan in terms of monthly outgoings.

The extra component we get in this plan is 5 client records can be added which implies 5 individuals can sign into your record on the off chance that you’re on the ‘Shopify plan’, rather than only 2 assuming you’re on the ‘advanced plan ‘.

You also get more inventory locations i.e 5.

Additionally, you get lower transaction and credit card processing fees.

The analytics are better in the Shopify plan in comparison to the basic which involves a simple dashboard, but in the Shopify plan, you get access to eCommerce automation tools.

The Shopify plan lets you add the ‘Shopify flow app which gives you sophisticated ways to automate tasks and processes within your store and across your apps.

The Advanced Plan ($299 per month)

The ‘advanced’ plan costs $299 monthly and is the most fully featured Shopify plan aimed at small businesses and solopreneurs.

It gives you 8 inventory locations, 15 user accounts, and lower transaction and credit card processing fees.

It gives you advanced, customizable reporting tools. The ‘advanced’ Shopify plan lets you set individual product prices for individual countries. You can also set duties and import taxes using the ‘Advanced plan’

The main reason you should use the advanced plan over the others is if you want to sell internationally.

Shopify Plus plan ($2000 per month )

The pricing of ‘Shopify plus’ is negotiable. For this, you get all the functionality provided by the ‘Advanced plan’- but Shopify plus also gives you a host of features typically required by large eCommerce businesses.

These include a dedicated account manager, full control over the checkout process; automatic currency conversion based on IP address; better access to Shopify’s API; an unlimited number of user accounts; and enhanced security features.

Perhaps most significantly, Shopify plus lets you create and manage up to 10 stores at once.

So if you are running a lot of eCommerce websites and need a lot of advanced features for them, Shopify plus arguably represents your best value option.

WHAT IS THE BEST VALUE SHOPIFY FOR YOU?

For merchants starting out, I normally recommend the Basic Plan. It’s a well-rounded option that gives you the core e-commerce tools you need, without breaking the bank.

For merchants in need of better reporting and more eCommerce automation features, but without a need for advanced international selling tools, the Shopify plan is a good option.

If a key business aim is to sell internationally, then the Advanced plan is the best starting point.

And, if you want to manage multiple Shopify stores at once or need enterprise-class features and account management services, then Shopify Plus is probably for you.

Difference between Shopify and Shopify plus

Shopify basic is going to be great for those who have just started selling online, who have no knowledge about coding, and who have made few sales provide a free trial for some period of time.

On the other hand, Shopify plus is for those who have great sales margins, and complex and high-volume businesses.

Shopify basic has multichannel sales tools, inbuilt shopping labels, and credit card processing with fraud protection.

In Shopify Plus, you can get along with AI for user experience, a single dashboard, and a customized shipping process.

Shopify basic provides phone, chat, and email support to resolve issues related to your eCommerce store whereas in Shopify plus, a launch manager and ongoing success manager support your store.

In Shopify basic, limited user accounts are there and charge a higher fee for credit card processing.

In Shopify Plus, fees are higher but there is an added learning curve for enterprise tools.
